Myrtle Anderson Crain

Myrtle Anderson Crain, 89, of 106 Mark Drive, Edenton, NC, and formerly of Elizabeth City, died Tuesday, July 16 in Vidant Chowan Hospital. Mrs. Crain was born in Pasquotank County and was the daughter of the late Joseph Benjamin and Eva Winslow Anderson. The retired owner and operator of Crain Realty and Insurance, she was a member of First Christian Church of Elizabeth City. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Edward Crain, Sr. and by her son, George Edward Crain, Jr. She is survived by two sons, Gerald Elton Crain, Sr. and wife Donna of Chapel Hill and Gayland Ellery Crain, Sr. and wife Sharman of Elizabeth City; seven grandchildren, Thomas Crain of Garner, Amanda Thompson of Wake Forest, Jerry Crain, Jr. of Chapel Hill, and David, Jr., Michael, Mary and Stephanie Crain, all of Elizabeth City; and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton by the Rev. Thomas Biggs.
