Shirley L. Lindsey

Shirley L. Lindsey, 75, of Hertford, NC, and formerly of Richmond, VA, died Monday, July 22, 2013 in Brian Center Health & Rehabilitation. Mrs. Lindsey was born in Rice, VA and was the daughter of the late Henry Roosevelt and Gladys Bailey Lindsey. A homemaker, she was a Baptist by faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John B. Lindsey. Surviving are her daughter, Helen L. Hunter and husband Marvin, Jr. of Hertford; two sons, Keith Lindsey and wife Sandy of Powhatan, VA and Kenny Lindsey of Blackstone, VA; two sisters, Mildred Flippin of Farmville, VA and Barbara Puller of Florida; and four grandchildren, Daniel and Tiffany Lindsey, and John and Holly Hunter. A memorial service will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in Pisgah Baptist Church, Rice, VA, by the Rev. Earl Wallace. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
