Dr. Sandria Dianne Williams Rodriguez, 68, of 124 Lloyd Overton Lane, Edenton, NC died Thursday, July 25, 2013 in her home. Dr. Rodriguez was born in Bertie County, and was the daughter of the late Burnett and Rosetta Williams. Beginning her career as an English teacher in the public school system, and then teaching on the college level, she retired after 13 years as the Dean of Academic Affairs at The College of Lake County in Grays Lake, Illinois. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Burnett Williams, Jr. Surviving are her husband of 47 years, Dr. Raymond Rodriguez; her daughter, Dr. Navarra Rodriguez and husband Carlos Perez, and their children, Justin Rae Perez and Sabrina Diane Perez, of Demarest, NJ; three sisters, Ella Cherry of Waukegan, IL, Dr. Brenda Senter and husband Aaron Deans of Plymouth, NC, and Sue Pitts of Fort Washington, MD; and a host of extended family members and friends. A memorial service will be held Saturday at 4:00 p.m. in St. Paul's Episcopal Church by The Rev. Thomas M. Rickenbaker. Friends may join the family in the parish hall of the church immediately following services. Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, is assisting with arrangements.
