Jeremy Wayne Ivey

Jeremy Wayne Ivey, 36, of 102 Poplar Place, Poplar Branch, NC, died Sunday, July 28, 2013 in Vidant Medical Center, Greenville. Jeremy was raised in Perquimans County and was the son of Alton Wayne Ivey and Darlene Jones, both of Hertford. Employed as a construction worker, he was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church, and was an Army veteran. Preceding him in death are his maternal grandfather, Fred Jones, and paternal grandparents, Alton and Mary Ann Ivey. Surviving in addition to his parents are his wife of 5 years, Amanda Goodwyn Ivey; a daughter, Autumn Elizabeth Ivey; a son, Logan Wayne Ivey, all of the home; his maternal grandmother, Jean Audrey Jones of Hertford; a sister, Heather Ivey Forbes of Elizabeth City; two brothers, Chris and Tyler Ivey, both of Hertford; his step-mother, Linda Ivey of Hertford; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members. A memorial service will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in New Hope United Methodist Church, 2098 New Hope Road, Hertford, by Pastors Edwin Rutenkroger and Greg Brinson. All are welcomed to join the family in the church social hall immediately following the service on Thursday, and other times at the home of his mother, 205 Hoyle Jones Road, Hertford. Miller & Van Essendelft, Funeral and Cremation Providers, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, assisted the family with the cremation arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his memory may be made to a college fund established for his children, and are to be made payable to Autumn/Logan Ivey, in care of Ivey Children's Fund, 2422 Turtle Bay Drive, New Bern, NC 28562.
