Myrtle Byrum Norman

Myrtle Byrum Norman, 95, of Paradise Road, Edenton, NC, and formerly of Winfall Blvd., died Saturday, August 3, 2013 in Chowan River Nursing and Rehabilitation, Edenton. Mrs. Norman was born in Chowan County and was the daughter of the late Thomas Hudgins and Patria Leary Byrum. Retired from sales and distribution of Stanley Home Products, she was a member of Center Hill Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Vinson Norman; her son, Richard Byrum; a daughter-in-law, Janet Chappell Byrum; sisters, Gertrude Ward and Helen Jernigan; and by brothers, William, Hubert, and Robert Byrum. Surviving are her daughter, Marian Byrum Casper and husband Vernon of Belvidere; her daughter-in-law, Carrie Byrum of Tyner; her sister-in-law, Lena Byrum of Delaware; six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. in Beaver Hill Cemetery, Edenton, by the Rev. Terry Jones. Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, is handling arrangements.
