Nancy Reed Winslow Riddick

Nancy Reed Winslow Riddick, 61, of 391 Spivey Road, Hobbsville, NC, died Sunday, August 4, 2013 in Albemarle Hospital, Elizabeth City. Mrs. Riddick was born in Pasquotank County and was the daughter of Durward F., Jr. and Edythe Payne Reed of Hertford. A retired pre-school teacher, she had worked at Albemarle School and Ding Dong School, both in Elizabeth City. Raised in, and a former member of Hertford United Methodist Church, she had in recent years been a member of Sandy Cross Baptist Church in Hobbsville. She was preceded in death by her first husband, James C. "Jimmy" Winslow, Jr. Surviving in addition to her parents are her husband of 12 years, Roger F. Riddick; three sons, Jason Brian Winslow and wife Annette of Hertford, Jonathan Bradley Winslow and wife Kristy of Elizabeth City, and Brandon Reed Winslow of Hobbsville; a sister, Judy R. Spear and husband J.C. of Elizabeth City; two brothers, Robert L. "Bob" Reed and wife Deborah, and Gary B. Reed, all of Hertford; and two grandsons, James Harvey Winslow and Lucas Reed Winslow. Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in the Riddick Family Cemetery by the Rev. Terry Jones. Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, is handling arrangements. Friends may join the family in the social hall of Sandy Cross Baptist Church immediately following the graveside services on Wednesday, and all other times at the residence.
