Gladys Eure Stallings

Gladys Eure Stallings, 84, of 72 Fred Stallings Lane, Hobbsville, NC, died Saturday, August 10, 2013 in Carolina House, Elizabeth City. Mrs. Stallings was born in Gates County and was the daughter of the late John Riddick, Sr. and Selma Lee Carter Eure. A homemaker, she was a member of Sandy Cross Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Fred Stallings; her son, Dennis Stallings; sisters, Lucille Smith, Emma Lee White, and Ruby Copeland; and brothers, William Alfred, Carlton, John, Jr., Bill, and Alvin Eure. Surviving are her daughter, Ann Wilmar and husband Mike of Elizabeth City; two sons, Carter Stallings and wife Charlotte and Steve Stallings and wife Janet, all of Hobbsville; six grandchildren, Brad, Rob, Jay and Heath Stallings, and Lauren and Grant Wilmar; and six great-grandchildren, Cole, Josh, Carson, and Jameson Stallings, and Jessica and Kimberly Peede. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in Sandy Cross Baptist Church by the Rev. Terry Jones. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, handling arrangements.
