Jill Naomi Meads

Jill Naomi Meads, 48, of 123 Hertford Beach Road, Hertford, NC, died Saturday, September 7, 2013 in Albemarle Hospital, Elizabeth City. Jill was born in Pasquotank County and was the daughter of James Anderson Meads and Carolyn Matthews Meads, both of Hertford. A graduate of East Carolina University, she was an Educational Specialist with Children's Developmental Services Agency in Elizabeth City. Surviving in addition to her parents are her two sisters, Joy M. Yount and husband Ned, Jr. and Jan M. Miller and husband Scott; a brother, Jonathan Meads, all of Hertford; a niece, Jessica W. Spear and husband Jonathan of Hertford; two nephews, Brad Miller and Zach Winslow, both of Elizabeth City; and a great-nephew, Joseph Matthew Spear. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. in the Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Chapel, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, by Pastor Stephen Mizell. Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery. Friends may join the family at the home of her sister, Jan Miller, 315 Lake Road, Hertford. Flowers are welcomed, or memorial contributions in her memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.
