Frances Privott Wilkins, 91, of 106 Cypress Drive, Edenton, NC, died Wednesday, September 18, 2013 in Chowan River Nursing & Rehabilitation. Mrs. Wilkins was born in Chowan County and was the daughter of the late George and Eva Harrell Privott. A retired teacher with the Edenton-Chowan School System, she was a member of Edenton Baptist Church and the Mary Martha Sunday School Class. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Louis George Wilkins, Sr.; two brothers, George H. Privott, Jr. and Joseph R. Privott; and a brother-in-law, Rudolph Taylor. Surviving are her daughter, Deborah W. Swicegood and husband Jay of Edenton; her son, Louis George Wilkins, Jr. and wife Gloria of Tyrone, GA; her sister, Marjorie Taylor of Longwood, FL; her brother, Mack H. Privott and wife Emily of Goldsboro; two sisters-in-law, Cornelia Privott of Currituck and Dorine Straub of Roanoke, VA; four grandchildren, Jason Swicegood and wife Maude of Raleigh, Matthew Swicegood and wife Olivia of Stantonsburg, Brian Swicegood and wife Elizabeth of New Bern, and Maya Wilkins of Tyrone; and four great-grandchildren, Macon, Owen, Berkley, and Mary Ella Swicegood. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in Edenton Baptist Church by the Rev. David Brooks. Burial will follow in Beaver Hill Cemetery with Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, handling arrangements. Friends may join the family at Jay and Debbie's home, 1001 W.
