John Larry Hill

John Larry Hill, 76, of 1406 Woodwind Drive, Greenville, NC, died Tuesday, September 24, 2013 in the Service League of Greenville Inpatient Hospice. Mr. Hill was born in Perquimans County and was the son of the late John Richard and Evelyn Rountree Hill. A supervisor with the Federal Aviation Administration, he retired from the Coastal Carolina Regional Airport in New Bern. A veteran of the United States Air Force, he attended First Christian Church in Greenville. Surviving are his wife of nearly 56 years, Margaret Sutton Hill; a daughter, Theresa Hill Dickerhoof and husband Gary of Poland, OH; a son, Robert Edward Hill of Greenwood, SC; a brother, William "Bill" Hill and wife Anne of Hampton, VA; two granddaughters, Jennifer Hill and Alyssa Hill; and a great-granddaughter, Jaslyn Hill. In accordance with his wishes, there will be no public visitation or funeral service. His desire was for family members and friends to take the time and share a special moment among each other in remembrance of him. Miller & Van Essendelft, Funeral and Cremation Providers, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, NC, is assisting the family with arrangements.
