Caroline McClenney Pratt

Caroline McClenney Pratt, 68, of 1435 NC Hwy 45, Merry Hill, NC, died Saturday, September 28, 2013 in her home. Mrs. Pratt was born in Bertie County and was the daughter of the late Wilbert Jennings and Dannie Perry McClenney. Retired after 16 years as the retail market manager with Perry-Wynns Fish Company, she had taught quilting at Roanoke-Chowan Community College, and was a member of Riverside Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Sherry Caroline Pratt Powell, a son, Brian Wilbur Pratt, a sister, Sylvia McClenney Bunch, and a brother-in-law, Norman Elliott Bunch. Surviving are her husband, Michael Terry Pratt; two sons, Michael George Pratt and David Aaron Pratt; a son-in-law, Raymond Powell; two brothers, Thomas P. McClenney and wife Louise and W.J. McClenney, Jr. and wife Rhonda, all of Merry Hill; a sister, Mary McClenney White and husband Joe of Hertford; seven grandchildren and numerous other family members and friends. A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in Riverside Baptist Church by Dr. Gene Martin. A private burial will follow in the family cemetery near the home. Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, is assisting with arrangements. Friends may join the family at the residence.
