Althea Kettelle Greenwood

Althea Kettelle Greenwood, 82, of 047 Middle Swamp Road, Gates, NC, died Saturday, September 28, 2013 in her home. Mrs. Greenwood was born in Manchester, NH, and was the daughter of the late John D. and Martha Chadborne Kettelle. A retired mortgage vault attendant in the banking industry, she was a former member of McKendrie United Methodist Church in Norfolk, VA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Lawrence Greenwood. Surviving are five daughters, Sharon Bennett and husband Terry of Chesapeake, VA, Laura Greenwood of Wakefield, VA, Lasinda Greenwood of Marysville, OH, Leslie Douglas and husband Danny of Gates, and Lisa Greenwood of Midlothian, VA; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A private graveside memorial service will be held in the Gatesville Cemetery. Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, is assisting the family with arrangements.
