Judith Umphlett Berryman, of Hobbsville, NC, succumbed to the cancer that had become a part of her life for four and a half years. She left behind her loving husband, Dewey H. Berryman. Born in Chowan County, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Myrtle White Umphlett. Award winning Artist in watercolor and acrylic, Judith started painting at five years old in coloring books and developed a love for art. Berryman's art is a visual creation at its purest and pursues that vision relentlessly. The result is a fresh expression that makes an emotional connection with people. (A God given talent). A cosmetologist, she was a member of Warwick Baptist Church and the Arts of the Albemarle. Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. in the family plot at Warwick Baptist Church by the Rev. Frank Ellington. Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Warwick Baptist Parsonage Fund, 4314 Virginia Road, Hobbsville, NC 27946. Online condolences may be made by visiting www.millerfhc.com.
