Betty Jone Payne Williams

Betty Jone Payne Williams, 75, of 111 Sycamore Street, Hertford, NC, died Tuesday, October 8, 2013 in Vidant Chowan Hospital, Edenton. Mrs. Williams was born in Kanawha County, WV and was the daughter of the late Jacob and Macel Meadows Payne. A homemaker, she was a member of Snug Harbor Community Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Milam and a son, Lee Milam. Surviving are her husband, Frank A. Williams, Jr.; two daughters, Pamela Buffa and husband Joseph and Carol Milam, both of Seaford, VA; a son, David Milam and wife Lisa of Wake Forest; a brother, David Markham of Akron, OH; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:00 a.m. in the Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Chapel, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, by the Rev. Howard Sutton.
