Everett Carl Horne

Everett Carl Horne, 92, of Pelican Pointe Drive, Elizabeth City, NC, died Thursday, October 10, 2013 in his home. Mr. Horne was born in DeKalb, IL and was the son of the late John and Susan Everett Horne. A retired mining executive, he was a US Air Force veteran. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Katherine Horne. Surviving are his wife, Rufena Fugate Horne; three daughters, Barbara Soderberg of Novato, CA, Penny Slate of Elizabeth City, and Donna Horne of Harrison, ME; a son, John Horne of Falmouth, ME; a sister, Glendora Horne of Louisville, KY; a brother, Carl John Horne, also of Louisville; and seven grandchildren. A private memorial service will be held. Miller & Van Essendelft, Funeral and Cremation Providers, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, is assisting the family with arrangements.
