Grace Williams Jones

Grace Cornelia Williams Jones, 83, of 440 Ingram Road, King, NC, died Wednesday, October 16, 2013 in Village Care of King. Mrs. Jones was born in Chowan County and was the daughter of the late George H. and Cornelia Jordan Williams. A homemaker, she had faithfully served alongside her husband as he pastored several churches through the years including Tabernacle Baptist Church in Suffolk, VA, Faith Baptist Church in Windsor, NC, and Calvary Baptist Church in Allison Park, PA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Jesse Jones; two sisters, Ruby Williams and Margaret Brittenham; and seven brothers, James, Randolph, Winston, Vance, Horace, E.G., and George Williams, Jr. Surviving are her three daughters, Linda Bartlett and husband Kevan of Sissonville, WV, Ruth Cordell and husband Stan of Waynesboro, VA, Kathy McClain of Staunton, VA; two sons, Robert Jones of Winston-Salem and David Jones and wife Tammy of Tobaccoville; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:00 p.m. in Oak Grove Christian Church, 633 Folly Road, Sunbury, NC, by the Rev. Kevan Bartlett. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, handling arrangements. Friends may join the family in the social hall immediately following the church service on Saturday.
