Mack Julian Lane

Mack Julian Lane, 91, of 1155 Beech Springs Road, Hertford, NC, died Thursday, October 31, 2013 in Chowan River Nursing and Rehabilitation, Edenton. Mr. Lane was born in Perquimans County and was the son of the late George Mack and Lillie Lane. He was a retired farmer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Ella Rogerson, Bell Eure, and Vellma Shaw, and a brother, John Henry Davis. Surviving are his wife of nearly 70 years, Velma Chappell Lane; two sons, Larry Lane and Gerry Lane and wife Ginger, all of Hertford; a granddaughter, Loretta Nixon; and two great-grandsons, Corbin and Declan. Graveside services will be held Sunday at 3:00 p.m. in West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery by the Revs. H. Gene Boyce and Dean Jarvis. Friends may join the family Saturday from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. in Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Home, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, and all other times at the residence.
