Anthony Bryant Griffin, 72, of 1804 West Queen Street, Edenton, NC, died Saturday, November 2, 2013 in his home. Mr. Griffin was born in Chowan County and was the son of the late William Floyd and Evelyn Perry Griffin. An electrician, he attended Countryside Church of Christ, was a member of Sudan Temple of the Shrine in New Bern, and was presently serving as the Master of Unanimity Masonic Lodge #7 in Edenton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a step-son, Kevin Jones. Surviving are his wife of 42 years, Cleo Jurney Griffin; a son, Tony Griffin and wife Annette of Virginia Beach, VA; a sister, Kathy Proctor of Edenton; and two brothers, Wayne Griffin of Edenton and Bill Griffin of Fort Wayne, IN. Also surviving are Cleo's children, Valerie Hobart and husband Jim of Bowie, MD and Timmy Jones and wife Debbie of Lusby, MD. Together he and Cleo shared seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, by Minister Bob Brock. Burial with Masonic Rites will follow in Beaver Hill Cemetery. Friends may join the family Tuesday from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. in the funeral home, and all other time at the residence.
