Virginia Bonds Donaldson

Virginia Bonds Donaldson, 84, of 1100 Smithwick Church Road, Williamston, NC, died Tuesday, November 5, 2013 in Martin General Hospital. Mrs. Donaldson was born in Martin County and was the daughter of the late John Dennis and Ella Allen Bonds. A retired inspector with the former Sampson Shirt Factory in Washington, NC, she attended Skewarkey Primitive Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Melbon Levi Donaldson; her daughter, Judy Dare Raynor; and by a son, Harvey Donaldson. Surviving are three sons, Chapman "Chappy" Donaldson and wife Lavone of Bear Grass, Arless Donaldson of Taylorsville, and Michael Donaldson of Williamston; seven grandchildren, Jamie, Jeremy, Jason, Cameron, and Tyler Donaldson, Laurie Jones, and Sandi White; and 11 great-grandchildren, Emma Raynor, Chase, Alissa, Madison, Mylee, Aaralyn, Luke, and Abbie Donaldson, Tanner Garcia, and Hunter and Abby White. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. in Skewarkey Primitive Baptist Church and will be officiated by Roger Leggett and Elder Joe Sawyer. Burial will follow in Skewarkey Cemetery. Friends may join the family in church on Friday beginning at 12:30 p.m. until time for services.
