Ruby Williams Webb

Ruby Williams Webb, 81, of 721 Poplar Neck Road, Edenton, NC, died Saturday, November 16, 2013 in Vidant Chowan Hospital. Mrs. Webb was born in Chowan County and was the daughter of the late Joel C., Sr. and Leora Smith Williams. A retired stock clerk with J.C. Penney Co., she was a member of Open Door Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Scott Gary Webb; four sisters, Distine Williams, Lois Harris, Beulah Harrell, and Ruth Holton; and by a brother, Calvin Williams. Surviving are her husband of nearly 65 years, Jennings Worth "J.W." Webb; four sisters, Ailine Foutch of Lancaster, CA, Helen Forehand of Taylorsville, Mary Elliott of Elizabeth City, and Hazel Black of Edenton; three brothers, James "Thomas" Williams of Surry, VA, Melvin Williams of Elizabeth City, and Jack Williams of Creswell; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in Open Door Church by Pastor Jay Rivenbark. Burial will follow in Beaver Hill Cemetery. Friends may join the family Monday from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. in Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, and other times at the residence.
