Richard Garner Perry

Richard Garner Perry, 72, of 302 Okisco Trial, Edenton, NC, died Monday, November 18, 2013 in Brian Center Health and Rehabilitation, Hertford. Mr. Perry was born in Floyd County, GA and was the son of the late Jefferson Davis, Sr. and Elizabeth Mae Nicholas Perry. Retired as a Petty Officer from the US Navy after 20 years of service, he had later been employed as a police officer with Naval Air Station Oceana and the Dam Neck Annex. He was a Baptist by faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers. Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Linda Kathleen Tino Perry; a son, Michael Patrick Perry of Edenton; two brothers, Bill Perry of Granada Hills, CA and Lewis Perry of Milton, FL; and many extended family members. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk, VA. Online condolences may be made by visiting www.millerfhc.com.
