Abie John "Johnny" Patrick, Jr., 60, of Willow Way, Elizabeth City, NC, died Thursday, November 21, 2013 in Albemarle Hospital. Mr. Patrick was born in Tyrell County and was the son of Renia Mae Clifton Patrick of Edenton and the late Abie John Patrick, Sr. A mechanical engineer in the cement industry, he was also preceded in death by a grandson, John Wayne Patrick. In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife, LaVonne Sanders Patrick of the home; two daughters, Heidi Patrick Spear and Holly Patrick Holt and husband Brent, and a son, Heath Patrick and wife Amy, all of Edenton; a sister, Anita Patrick Davenport of Edenton; and a brother, Scott Nelson Patrick of Creswell. Also surviving are LaVonne's sons, Jacob Bell and wife Megan of Grand Forks, ND and Matthew Bell and wife Jennifer of Frisco, TX. Together Johnny and LaVonne shared six grandchildren, Taylor Patrick, Aaron Knapp, Katline Holt, Tucker Patrick, Courtney Bell, and Alexander Bell. A memorial gathering will be held Saturday at 5:00 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, by the Rev. Thomas Biggs.
