Gary Lee Burnett

Gary Lee Burnett, 53, of 815 Cabarrus Street, died Sunday, December 8, 2013 in Vidant Medical Center, Greenville. Mr. Burnett was born in Tacoma, WA and was the son of William Burnett of Waynesville, NC and the late June Mary Chapman. He worked as a lineman in the telephone industry. In addition to his father, survivors include his wife, Deborah Paige Mitchell of the home; two daughters, Tiffany Owenby and husband Michael of Leicester, NC and Jamie Hyden of Chillicothe, OH; three sons, Jacob Burnett of Chillicothe, Joshua Burnett and wife Chelsea of Eagle River, AK and John Burnett of Waynesville; a sister, Elaine Hilton of Chapin, SC; four brothers, Steven Burnett and Michael Burnett both of Waynesville, Derek McGee of Orlando, FL, and David McGee of Kennesaw, GA; and six grandchildren, Alexis Bugg, Kaylee Bugg, Michael Owenby, Hayden Burnett, Loralei Burnett and Jaxon Burnett. The family will conduct a private memorial service at a later date. Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, Edenton, assisted the Burnett family with cremation arrangements.
