Lorraine Murphy Shuey Lamb

Lorraine Murphy Shuey Lamb, 84, of 186 Hemlock Street, Hertford, NC, died Friday, December 13, 2013 in Waterbrooke of Elizabeth City. Mrs. Lamb was born in Jackson, MS and was the daughter of the late Edward Leroy and Linda Lee Thruman Murphy. She was a retired housekeeper in the lodging industry. Surviving are her daughters, Laurinda S. Ferrell and husband Roger of Elizabeth City and Cheryl S. Glascoe and husband John of Hertford; a son, Raymond E. Shuey and wife Kay of Hertford; a sister, Martha Fishback and husband John of Oregon; five grandchildren, Amanda Byrum and husband Kevin, John Ferrell and wife Brandy, Heather Deptola and husband Eddie, II, Kyle Shuey and Selena Shuey; four great-grandchildren, Lacey Ferrell, Daniel Byrum, Dylan Byrum, and Edward Deptola, III; and two step-grandchildren, Lindsey Byrum and Emily Brugger. A memorial service will be held Monday at 3:00 p.m. in the Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Chapel, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, by the Rev. Jeanell Cox.
