Lester Robert Brubaker

Lester Robert Brubaker, 81, of 65 Crosstown Road, Gates, NC, died Saturday, December 28, 2013 in Sentara Obici Hospital, Suffolk, VA. Mr. Brubaker was born August 18, 1932 in York, PA and was the son of the late Lester Carlton and Laura Henderson Brubaker. A retired manager with Southgate Molasses Company in Portsmouth, VA, he was a US Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Patsy Johnson Brubaker; three daughters, Carol Ann Blake of Darlington, SC, Betty Jo Schultz of Elizabeth City, and Trisha Louise Gambill of Wilkes County, NC; and five grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Tuesday beginning at 2:00 p.m. in the Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Chapel, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford.
