Faye Jones Harrell

Faye Jones Harrell, 73, of 111 Emperor Landing Road, Edenton, NC, died Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at her home. Mrs. Harrell was born in Chowan County and was the daughter of the late Erie and Hazel Bass Jones. Retired from the grocery business, she had worked at the former P & Q Supermarket and the A & P Grocery, both in Edenton, and later retired from Belo Foods in Hertford. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Jimmy Clayton Harrell. Surviving are her daughter, Donna H. Evans and husband Wayne; her son, Ray Harrell; and three sisters, Marjorie Smith and husband Carroll, Helen Overton and husband Elmer, and Janet Winslow and husband McCoy, all of Edenton. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Matthew Evans and wife Megan, Katie Rucker and husband Mike, and Ray Harrell, Jr.; and her great-grandchildren, Madison Bass, Will Rucker, Mallory Evans, and Emily Rucker. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in Macedonia Baptist Church by the Revs. Bob Young and Terry Jones. A private burial will follow in Beaver Hill Cemetery. Friends may join the family Saturday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, and other times at Donna and Wayne's home, 102 Tip Toe Road.
