John Leonard McKendrick

John Leonard McKendrick, 76, of 239 Halsey Bay Road, Hertford, NC, died Wednesday, January 8, 2014 in his home. Mr. McKendrick was born in Blue Point, NY and was the son of the late David and Annie Peak McLachlan McKendrick. Retired from the Suffolk County Police Department in New York, he enjoyed membership in various Suffolk County Police organizations including the Suffolk County Police Association, Benevolent Association, Conference, and Alumni, and also in the New York State Retired Police Association, Fraternal Order of Police, and the International Police Association. A veteran, he had served in the US Navy. Surviving are his wife, Evelyn Pauline Mifsud McKendrick; two daughters, Karen Bacalla and Christine Imhof, both of New York; a son, Scott McKendrick of New York; and two brothers, David and George McKendrick, both of Florida. Also surviving are Evelyn's two sons, Anthony Cirincione of Arizona and Lorin Cirincione of New York. Together John and Evelyn shared nine grandchildren, Anthony, II, John Vincent, Tyler, and Danny Cirincione, Randy Kral, William Imhof, and Erin, Kim, and Kelly McKendrick; and one great-granddaughter, Ava Cirincione. At his request, no services will be held.
