John Samuel Fairbanks, Jr.

John Samuel Fairbanks, Jr., 61, of 148 Arrow Road, Ahoskie, NC, died Sunday, January 26, 2014 at his home. Mr. Fairbanks was born in Detroit, MI, and was the son of the late John S., Sr. and Elsie Partin Fairbanks Fraley. A carpenter, he was a member of the Assembly of God faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, John Fairbanks, III and Toby Fairbanks, a granddaughter, Brittany Nicole Harrell, and by his wife, Linda Kay Brimer Fairbanks. Surviving are three daughters, Tanya Kennedy and husband Dustin of Sunbury, Tangie Page and husband Ricky of Ahoskie, and Tara Fairbanks, also of Ahoskie; a sister, Betty Fairbanks of Charlottesville, VA; two brothers, Dennis Ray Fairbanks, Sr. of Gatesville and Steve Fairbanks of Charlottesville; and six grandchildren, Richard Zane Page, III, Tyler Brandon Page, Madison Renee Kennedy, Kaylee Lanae Kennedy, Mallory Leigh Bayse, and Miranda Leigh Fairbanks. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, and will be officiated by Joy Phillips, Chaplain and Bereavement Coordinator, Vidant Home Care & Hospice. A private burial will follow in the Bazemore Family Cemetery, Cofield. Friends may join the family Saturday from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
