Jane Lazar Clifton

Jane Ann Lazar Clifton, 68, of 1350 Spruill Bridge Road, Creswell, NC, died Wednesday, January 29, 2014 in Vidant Beaufort Hospital, Washington, NC. Mrs. Clifton was born in South River, NJ on March 26, 1945, and was the daughter of the late John and Helen Popeck Lazar. She had retired from Quality Control at Seabrook Blanching Corp. in Edenton. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Lue Gerry Clifton. Known by everyone as "Mama Jane", she is survived by her daughter, Pamela Jones and husband Barry of Edenton; her son, Alan Ray Clifton and wife Teresa of Creswell; her sister, Joan Willeber and husband Charlie of South River, NJ; three grandchildren, Carl Allen Clifton and wife Kate of Creswell, Steven Ray Clifton, also of Creswell, and Aubrey Madry and husband Cody of Edenton; a great-granddaughter, Lillian Williams of Creswell; and her beloved cat, "Stinky". A memorial service will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, by the Rev. Larry Woodley.
