Donald Barco Pugh, 89, of 199 Dailey Road, Camden, NC, died February 6, 2014 in Albemarle Hospital, Elizabeth City. A native of Camden County, he was the son of the late James Monroe and Emmer Jane Barco Pugh. During World War II he served in the Merchant Marines and later was employed with and retired from the Norfolk International Terminal as a Dock Foreman, was a member of Widow's Son Masonic Lodge #75 for 60 years, and a member of Shiloh Baptist Church since his youth. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 44 years, Rose Ilene Pugh, a daughter, Marianne Pugh Jackson, and step-grandson, Ralph Stockton. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 19 years, Ethel Faye Leary Pugh; two daughters, Rosa-Lee Pugh Riddick and husband Bill of Franklin, VA and Kathleen Pugh Aydlett and husband Bill of Camden; a son-in-law, Johnny Wells Jackson of Franklin, VA; step-daughters, Tanya Leary Stockton of Raleigh and Wanda Leary and husband Phillip Lee of Elkins, WV; five grandchildren, Patricia Riddick Glad, Kelly Riddick Miller, Ben Jackson, Amanda Jackson Burr and Josh Williams; five step-grandchildren, Daniel Stockton, Miriah Lee, Japhie Lee, Kaya Lee and Aaron Lee; six great-grandchildren, Jon Jackson, Jake Jackson, Patrick Miller, Aaron Miller, Christina Miller, and Ellie Glad, all of whom he loved dearly; and his sister, Naomi Pugh Barefoot and husband A.C. of Raleigh. A memorial service with family and friends will be held at a later time.
