Janet Hollowell Swain

Janet Hollowell Swain, 49, of 802 Sandy Ridge Road, Tyner, NC, went to be with Lord on Tuesday, February 18, 2014, from Vidant Medical Center, Greenville. Janet was born in Chowan County. A Registered Nurse with Vidant Chowan Hospital in Edenton, she was a member of Ballard's Bridge Baptist Church and The Beth Cooke Southern Group. She was preceded in death by her mother, Shirley White Hollowell. Surviving are her husband of 23 years, Hal Swain; her son, Jason Alvin Swain of Elizabeth City; four daughters, Tonya Drake and Renee Page and husband Chris, all of Chesapeake, VA, and Jennifer Ann Delaney and Haley Marie Swain, both of Raleigh; her father, Alvin Hollowell and wife Julie of Edenton; and three grandchildren, Caitlin Drake, Ah'mya Page, and Cionni Page. A memorial service will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in Ballard's Bridge Baptist Church by the Rev. Ron Parr and Pastor Jim Taylor. Friends may join the family Saturday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, and all other times at the home.
