Ethia Winslow Adams, 98, formerly of West Church Street, Edenton, NC, died Thursday, February 20, 2014 in Chowan River Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Adams was born in Perquimans County on October 24, 1915, and was the daughter of the late Herbert and Daisy King Winslow. A homemaker, she was a member of Edenton United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Melton Adams; sisters, Novella Perry and Flora Tatterson; and by brothers, Cyril, Earl, and Derl Winslow. Surviving are two sons, John M. Adams and wife Linda of Edenton and Herbert R. Adams and wife Gloria of Hayesville; a sister, Ruth W. Self of Elizabeth City; a brother, Lawrence Winslow of Belvidere; seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday at 1:00 p.m. in Edenton United Methodist Church by the Rev. W. Christopher Aydlett, Jr. A private burial will follow in Beaver Hill Cemetery. Friends may join the family in the church fellowship hall immediately following the service. Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, is assisting the family with arrangements.
