William Marshall Morse

William Marshall "Pete" Morse, 74, of 105 Dobbs Street, Hertford, NC, died Tuesday, March 18, 2014 in Brian Center Health and Rehabilitation, Hertford. Mr. Morse was born in Perquimans County and was the son of the late Ernest Earl Morse and Pauline Corbett Morse Harris. He retired from the North Carolina Department of Transportation after 20 years of employment. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Earline Godfrey. Surviving are his four sisters, Dorothy Owens, Mattie Wray Godfrey, Juanita Byrum, and Faye Nixon; special family members and friends, Stacy Owens and wife Mary and Reggie Terry, all of Hertford, and many other nieces, nephews and extended family members. A private service will be held in the mausoleum chapel of West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Elizabeth City. Friends may join the family at the home of his sister, Dorothy Owens, 561 Ballahack Road, Hertford.
