Louise Ambrose Wheeler

Louise Ambrose Wheeler, 89, formerly of Edenton, NC, and more recently of The Davis Community, Wilmington, NC, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 22, 2014. Louise was born in Edenton on November 5, 1924, and was the daughter of the late Ellsberry and Myrtle Furlough Ambrose. Trained as a Dialysis Technician and as a Certified Nursing Assistant, she worked for many years at Charlotte Memorial Hospital and then several years in private duty care. A member of many churches as she moved to different communities, she was a devoted friend to many. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Caskey, and by her brother, Ellsberry "Dick" Ambrose, Jr. The loving mother of Warren "Buck" Wheeler, and his wife Laura of Newton Grove, Terry Lee Wheeler, and his wife Valerie of Manteo, and of Scarlett Kowalewski of Rocky Point, she is also survived by two sisters, Cynthia Thebault and Atheline McMahon, both of Fryeburg, Maine. Louise was the proud grandmother to eight grandchildren, Keith Wheeler and wife Wendy of Woodbridge, VA, Dennis Davis and wife Julia of Hoffman Estates, IL, Christian Davis of Wilmington, Jason Wheeler and wife Jennifer of Manteo, Stephen Wheeler and wife Amy of Suffolk, VA, Susan Tyler of Newport, RI, Stacie Allen and husband Bryon of Greenville, and Alfie Wheeler of Manteo; and the loving great-grandmother to 12 great-grandchildren, Dennis Davis, III, Chase Davis, McKenna Davis, Raynor Davis, Stratton Davis, Peri Wheeler, Tyler Wheeler, Caz Wheeler, Wyn Wheeler, Ava Allen, James Tyler, and Paloma Tyler. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 29th, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton. Burial will follow in Beaver Hill Cemetery.
