Leslie Hillyer Perry

Leslie Hillyer Perry, 91, formerly of New Hope Road, Hertford, NC, died Sunday, March 23, 2014 in Waterbrooke of Elizabeth City. Mr. Perry was born on February 13, 1923 in Perquimans County and was the son of the late Earl Mathew and Gladyce Hillyer Perry. A retired self-employed electrician and plumber, he was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy P. Carroll, and by his brother, Thomas Carroll Perry. Surviving are two nieces, Camille Lassiter of Georgia and Durand Hayes of Texas; and many friends and neighbors. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. in the Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Chapel, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford. Burial will follow in the Mullen Family Cemetery.
