Lloyd Gene Chappell, Sr.

Lloyd Gene Chappell, Sr., 73, of 744 Happy Home Road, Tyner, NC, died Monday, April 7, 2014 in Vidant Medical Center, Greenville. Mr. Chappell was born in Chowan County on January 8, 1941, and was the son of the late Lloyd Lester and Albertha Dail Chappell. The retired owner/operator of his truck transport business, he was a member of Happy Home Pentecostal Holiness Church. Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Genevieve Kujawski Chappell; two daughters, Debbie Chappell Moreland and husband Mark of Edenton and Jenny Lynn Chappell Williams and husband Samuel of Antioch, TN; two sons, Lloyd G. "Baby Gene" Chappell, Jr. and wife Linda, and John Clingman Chappell, all of Tyner; a sister, June Carolyn Stallings and husband Larry of Tyner; and four grandsons, Jeremy and Joel Moreland, Malcolm Williams, and Tony Bruebaker. A gathering for friends to join and visit with the family will be held Thursday from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. in Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton.
