Bonnie Wood Finney

Bonnie Farrell Wood Finney, 70, of 211 Chepanoe Trail, Edenton, NC, died Tuesday, April 15, 2014 in her home. Mrs. Finney was born in Alleghany County, VA on March 19, 1944 and was the daughter of the late O.L. "Buck" and Margie Jane Whitmer. The retired assistant manager of Family Foods in Sunbury, she attended First Assembly of God Church in Edenton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Tillie Wood, a brother, Ronnie Wood, and by a grandson, Bubba. Surviving are her high school sweetheart and husband of 51 years, Edward Wayne Finney; her daughter, Belinda Finney Stansbury and husband Michael of Chesapeake, VA; her sister, Bridgette Randozzo, and her brother, Steve Whitmer, both of Millboro, VA; two grandchildren, Valerie and Bonnie; and four great-grandchildren, Lexi, D.J., Eli, and Christopher. A memorial service will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in First Assembly of God Church by the Revs. Randy Pierce and Bernie Hurdle. Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, assisted the family with the cremation arrangements.
