Gavin Linwood Soto

Gavin Linwood Soto, 11 months, of 1210 Yeopim Road, Edenton, NC, died Sunday, April 27, 2014 in The Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters, Norfolk, VA, from injuries received in a tornado that struck Chowan County on Friday night. Gavin was born in Chowan County on May 1, 2013, and was the son of Ashley Caroline Bain and James Soto. Surviving other than his parents are his brother, Noah Scott Copeland; his sister, Gabby Soto; maternal grandparents, Gail Harrell Bain and Richard "Boone" Brabble of Edenton and Richard and Tamera Bain of Milwaukee, OR; paternal grandmother, Linda Soto of Virginia Beach; maternal great-grandmother, Syble C. Harrell of Edenton; paternal great-grandmother, Mary Russell of Virginia Beach; his special "big sister" cousin, Brylee Boyce; and by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members. Gavin was preceded in death by his great-grandfathers, Roy Linwood Harrell, Sr. and Jerry Russell. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, by the Rev. David Brooks. A private burial will follow in Beaver Hill Cemetery. Friends may join the family in the funeral home immediately following the chapel service, and other times at the home of Syble Harrell, 200 S.
