Ellen Imperial White

Ellen Imperial White, 79, of 1092 Cherry Meadow Lane, Rock Hill, SC, passed away Sunday, April 27, 2014 at Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House. A Celebratory Mass will be conducted Friday, May 2, 2014 at St. Anne Catholic Church in Edenton, NC with The Reverend William Pitts officiating. Burial will follow in Beaver Hill Cemetery. A native of Irosin, Bicol Providence, The Phillipines, Ellen was the daughter of the late Paz and Emetrio Imperial. She received a B.S. Degree in Nursing from the University of Santo Thomas in The Phillipines. Before retiring from Bertie County Memorial Hospital in Windsor, NC, she worked at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto, Canada and Portsmouth General Hospital in Portsmouth, VA. Ellen was a member of Saint Anne Catholic Church in Edenton and Saint Anne's Catholic Church in Rock Hill where she was a member of the choir and active in St. Martha's Circle and the Rock Hill Rosary Group. Surviving are her husband, Starkey E. "Eddie" White, of the home; her daughter, Susie Owens, of Edenton; her sister, Magnolia De Los Reyes, of Manila, Phillipines; and two granddaughters, Magnolia Grace Owens and Shelby Owens. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Saint Anne's Catholic Church, 1694 Bird Street, Rock Hill, SC 29730 or to Saint Anne Catholic Church, 207 N. Broad Street, Edenton, NC 27932. Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel in Rock Hill is in charge of arrangements. All services in Edenton are under the direction of Miller Funeral Home.
