Ethelyn Love Evans

Ethelyn Love Evans, 77, of 1414 Tulls Creek Road, Moyock, NC, died Sunday, May 4, 2014 in Chesapeake Regional Medical Center, Chesapeake, VA. Ms. Evans was born in Currituck County and was the daughter of the late Richard Lawrence and Mary Perry Evans. A graduate of Moyock High School where she was valedictorian of her class, she retired as a lab technician from the dental industry. A multi-talented lady, she had many passions in life including gardening, mowing grass, photography, observing the surrounding wildlife, arts and crafts, and carving decoys. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Autis Evans, Edgar "Pug" Evans, and Edward Evans. Surviving are her daughter, Brenda Kay Swindell; her son, Walter P. Denby and wife Kimberly, all of Currituck; a sister, Carolyn Davis of Murphy; a brother, Jesse "J.B." Evans of Lansing, NC; two grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Korbyn Denby; a great-granddaughter, Reanna Swindell; and a special son-in-law, Roy R. Swindell. A memorial service will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. in Coinjock Baptist Church by the Rev. Ricky Bishop. Friends may join the family in the church social hall immediately following the service.
