Florence Ann Casper Odom

Florence Ann Casper Odom, 66, of 402 Kilby Avenue, Suffolk, VA, died Wednesday, May 7, 2014 in her home. Mrs. Odom was born in Perquimans County, NC and was the daughter of the late Robert Vernon, Sr. and Clarine Mavis Winslow Casper. A homemaker, she had attended Westminster Presbyterian Church in Suffolk. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Thomas Odom, Sr. and by a brother, Carlton Ray Casper. Surviving are her daughter, Linda Cheryl Whittemore; a son, Ernest Thomas Odom, Jr., both of Suffolk; a sister, Hilda Butler of Elizabethtown, NC; three brothers, Robert Casper, Jr. of Gates, NC, Lester Casper of Suffolk, and Greg Casper of Gates; two grandsons, Leonard "Buddy" Whittemore, Jr. and Aaron Whittemore; and a great-grandson, Elijah Whittemore. Graveside services will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in the Casper Family Cemetery in Eure, NC, by Pastor Michael Whitcomb. Friends may join the family Friday from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. in Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, NC, and other times at the residence.
