Mary Fak Corbell, 88, of 119 Dot Sears Drive, Grandy, NC, died Thursday, May 15, 2014 in Sentara Nursing Center- Currituck. Mrs. Corbell was born in Baraga, MI and was the daughter of the late Valentin and Antonia Dukic Fak. A homemaker, she was a Catholic by faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson Weatherly Corbell, two brothers, Silvester and Fred Fak, a son-in-law, David Scaff, and a grandson, Logan Scaff. Surviving are her two daughters, Judy Corbell Dowdy and husband Bud of Grandy and Barbara Corbell Scaff of Aydlett; a son, Mickey Wilson Corbell and wife Elizabeth of Grandy; a brother, Peter Fak of Modesto, CA; three grandchildren, Chase Brinkley and Amanda and Mary Ann Corbell; and four great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at the home of her daughter, Judy Dowdy, 103 Andrew Road, Grandy, and will be officiated by the Rev. Rob Lewis.
