Ronald Luther Boyce

Ronald Luther Boyce, 77, of 314 Turnpike Road, Belvidere, NC, died Thursday, June 19, 2014 in his home. Mr. Boyce was born in Gates County on September 21, 1936, and was the son of the late Luther Martin and Donnie Kelly Boyce. A retired civil service employee from the Elizabeth City Coast Guard Base, he was a member of Up River Friends Meeting, and had served in the United States Air Force. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Eric Boyce; and brothers, Elton, Floy, and James Boyce. Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Kay Winslow Boyce; a daughter, Michelle Pronto and husband Rick of Belvidere; a daughter-in-law, Christy Boyce of Hertford; a sister, Sarah Leigh Cohn of Virginia Beach; two grandchildren, Jonathan Boyce and wife Tiffani of Hertford, and Dawn Boyce of Elizabeth City; and two great-grandchildren, Cailyn Stallings and Ariel Craddock. Graveside services will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in Up River Cemetery by the Rev. Chuck Hartman. Miller & Van Essendelft, Funeral and Cremation Providers, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, is handling arrangements. Friends may join the family at the residence.
