W. Jasper Robertson

Willie Jasper Robertson, 89, formerly of Grubb Street, Hertford, NC, and more recently of Heritage Care of Elizabeth City, died Monday, June 30, 2014 in Sentara Albemarle Medical Center, Elizabeth City. Mr. Robertson was born in Gates County on September 5, 1924, and was the son of the late William Wallace and Jim Sue Robertson Hendrix. A retired farmer, he was a Baptist by faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Robertson; three sisters, Mary Toppin, Retha McDonald, and Sadie East; and by two brothers, Pete Robertson and William Hendrix. Surviving are several nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in Cedarwood Cemetery by the Rev. Roland Cooper.
