Faye Dennis Clarke

Faye Dennis Clarke, 90, of 375 Hobbsville Road, Hobbsville, NC, died Thursday, July 31, 2014 in Down East Health & Rehabilitation Center, Gatesville. Mrs. Clarke was born in Warren County, NC on May 11, 1924 and was the daughter of the late Joseph Asbury and Vallie Joyner Dennis. A former reading tutor at both Gatesville Elementary and Buckland schools, she was a member of Hobbsville Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, The Rev. Thomas A. Clarke, Jr., by her son, Fred Clarke, by her brother, Joseph Dennis, and by sisters, Eileen Perdue and Edith Gilliam. Surviving are her daughter, Nancy Jo Meiners and husband Steve of Fuquay-Varina; her son, Bill Clarke of Hobbsville; her daughter-in-law, Faye Parrish Clarke of Chesapeake, VA; four grandchildren, Jennifer Clarke Nelson and husband James, Bryce Meiners and wife Joelene, Kelly Meiners Maldonado and husband Matt, and Ross Meiners; and four great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Ava, and Jackson Nelson, and Christion Meiners. A private gathering for family and invited friends will be held at Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton. The burial will be beside her husband in Beaver Hill Cemetery.
