Delores Anne Fulcher Hollowell, 64, of 368 Spivey Road, Hobbsville, NC, died Wednesday, August 13, 2014 in her home. Delores was born in Norfolk, VA on October 5, 1949. A retired teacher, she had taught for 34 years in the public school system at Colerain Elementary, E.A. Swain in Edenton, Gatesville Elementary, and T.S. Cooper in Sunbury, and in retirement for eight years at Ridgecroft School in Ahoskie. A faithful member of Hobbsville Baptist Church, she served as a Sunday School teacher, director of Vacation Bible School, a member of the choir, the church musician, the music coordinator, and a member of its W.M.U. She was preceded in death by her mother, Esther Mae Byrum, and by her brother, Harold Linton "Lee" Fulcher. Surviving are her husband of 39 years, Joseph Eugene Hollowell, Sr.; two sons, Joseph E. "Gene" Hollowell, Jr. and wife Rhonda of Franklinton and Jason Lee Hollowell of Raleigh; her sister, Bettie Jean Fulcher Dotson and husband Jay of Jarvisburg; her sister-in-law, Jo Fulcher Hawkins and husband Jeff of Pittsboro; and her twin grandsons, Parker and Spencer. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in Hobbsville Baptist Church by the Rev. Tim Dannelly. A private burial will be in the Bunch Family Cemetery on Selwin Road. Friends may join the family Friday from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. in Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, or Saturday in the social hall immediately following the church service, or all other times at the residence.
