Peggy Abee Lowman, 81, of 40 Horton Lane, Eure, NC, died Sunday, August 17, 2014 in Down East Health & Rehabilitation Center, Gatesville. Mrs. Lowman was born in Burke County, NC on July 30, 1933, and was the daughter of the late Grady W. and Flossie Poteat Abee. A retired shipping and receiving clerk with Sears & Roebuck, she was raised in the fellowship of Abee's Chapel Baptist Church in Valdese. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Steven Denver Lowman. Surviving are her husband of nearly 65 years, A.D. Lowman; her daughter, Sherrie Lynn Lowman Tallent and husband Bob of Morganton; her sister, Coleen Byers of Connelly Springs; two grandsons, Scotty and Brandon; and two great-grandchildren, Stormy and Noah. Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in Abee's Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery. Friends may join the family Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. in Heritage Funeral Service & Crematory, 1507 Main Street E, Valdese.
