Beulah Lane Boyce Turner

Beulah Lane Boyce Turner, 86, of 219 Sandy Ridge Road, Edenton, NC, died Wednesday, August 20, 2014 in W.R. Winslow Memorial Home, Elizabeth City. Mrs. Turner was born in Chowan County on November 4, 1927 and was the daughter of the late Luther and Leora Goodwin Lane. A former care-giver for the elderly, she was a member of Center Hill Baptist Church. In addition to parents, she was preceded in death by both her husbands, Vernon M. Boyce and Vernon J. Turner; a daughter, Dorothy Jean Boyce; a son, Clyde William Boyce; and a brother, Thurman Lane. Surviving are five daughters, Peggy Hurdle and husband Henry and Mary Virginia O'Connor and husband Kim, all of Edenton, Beulah "Boo" Turner and husband Roger of Belvidere, Joyce Lassiter and husband Bobby of Hobbsville, and Fran Tarkington of Hertford; a son, Randy Boyce and wife Jennifer of Edenton; three sisters, Thelma Koenig, Bessie Newby, and Josie Ashley, all of Edenton; three brothers, Alton Lane and Melvin Lane, both of Edenton, and James Lane of Belvidere; 19 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are Mr. Turner's children, Barbara Cobb, Erma Phillips, Vernon Turner, Jr., Billy Turner, Robert Turner, and Phillip Turner. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, by the Rev. Frank Ellington. Burial will follow in Beaver Hill Cemetery. Friends may join the family Friday from 7 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home and all other times at the home of her daughter, Peggy, 310 Roanoke Trail (Chowan Beach), Edenton.
