Barbara Long Goodwin

Barbara Long Goodwin, 70, of 201 Hawthorne Road, Edenton, NC, died Tuesday, September 2, 2014 in Chowan River Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Edenton. Mrs. Goodwin was born in Chesapeake, VA on April 7, 1944 and was the daughter of the late Dewey and Ruth Williams Long. A homemaker, she was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, William Chadwick Goodwin, and by a brother, James Long. Surviving are her children, Nikki Farless and husband Timothy; and Wade Goodwin, all of Edenton; her brother, Dewey Lee Long of CA; and four grandchildren, Drew Jordan, William Farless, Mariah Goodwin, and Kaitlyn Bass. Funeral services will be held Friday at 3:00 p.m. in Macedonia Baptist Church by the Rev. Bob Young. Burial will follow in Beaver Hill Cemetery. Friends may join the family Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. in Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, and other times at the home of her daughter, 142 Bowens Road.
