William Paul Sharp, Sr.

William Paul Sharp, Sr., 89, of 301 Baker Street, Ahoskie, NC, died Friday, September 12, 2014 in the W.G. Hefner Medical Center in Salisbury, NC. Mr. Sharp was born in Bertie County on August 7, 1925 and was the son of the late William P. and Amanda Harrell Sharp. A retired cabinet maker, he was a member of First Baptist Church of Ahoskie and had served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Jeanette Ambrose Sharp, and by his daughter and son-in-law, Jayme and Mike Lawrence Surviving are two sons, William Paul Sharp, Jr. and wife Sherri of Salisbury and Thomas Mark Sharp and wife Vicki of Burlington; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. in First Baptist Church, Ahoskie, by the Rev. Dr. Daniel E. Glaze.
